Program objective: 

Internal regulations of BTHM  ​

The program aims to achieve the following:

  1. Preparing and qualifying students in the field of tourism and hotel management and tourism marketing, and providing them with a high level of knowledge in line with the scientific and technical progress achieved at the international level.
  2. Shaping and developing the student’s scientific and technical personality by benefiting from all the advantages offered by virtual learning, and contributing to strengthening and reinforcing the scientific formation of students in the field of tourism and hotel management and tourism marketing.
  3. Encouraging the conduct of theoretical and applied research in a way that contributes to enriching and developing knowledge, and providing solutions in the field of tourism and hotels in Syria.
  4. Achieving the highest level of interaction between the program and the community with its economic and social institutions, in order to connect the university with the community.
  5. Organizing and holding scientific seminars, conferences and workshops that contribute to enriching contemporary tourism and hotel issues and problems and finding appropriate solutions to them.

Learning outcomes

One of the most important qualities that a graduate of Tourism and Hotel Management should have is the ability to:

Gain knowledge and understanding:

Upon obtaining the certificate, the student will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

First: Tourism Administration Specialization:

  1. Learning about the principles, functions and introductions to tourism management.
  2. Learning about the importance of tourism management in modern organizations.
  3. Knowing the nature of the problems faced by the tourism sector and how to address them.
  4. The ability to determine appropriate quantitative and qualitative analysis in the study of issues related to tourism management.
  5. Acquiring a high-level knowledge basis in tourism management.

Second: Hotel Management Specialization:

  1. Learning about the principles and functions of hotel management.
  2. The ability to interpret the significance of numbers and data related to the hotel industry.
  3. Learning about the management of services provided in the hotel.
  4. Learning about the global form of hotel management.
  5. Knowing the nature of the problems faced by the hotel sector and how to address them.

Third: Tourism Marketing Specialization:

  1. The ability to analyze and explain information related to marketing decision making.
  2. The ability to analyze and understand the needs and desires of customers and translate them into appropriate services and marketing options.
  3. The ability to analyze and evaluate strategic marketing alternatives.
  4. The ability to identify appropriate quantitative and qualitative analysis in the study of marketing cases.
  5. The ability to analyze markets and the competitive environment.
  6. The ability to interpret numbers and marketing data.

Professional and practical skills:

Upon obtaining the certificate, the student will be able to demonstrate professional and practical skills in terms of:

First: Tourism Administration Specialization:

  1. The ability to analyze and design work to achieve the goals of the organization.
  2. The ability to effectively interact with the public.
  3. The ability to efficiently undertake the activities related to their job.
  4. The ability to prepare and formulate long-term goals and strategies.
  5. The ability to face problems, make decisions and control.

Second: Hotel Management Specialization:

  1. The ability to provide reception and management services in hotels.
  2. Professionalism in food preparation, hospitality services, customer service and communication with them.
  3. The ability to manage restaurants and how to take care of the food and beverages served in hotels.

Third: Tourism Marketing Specialization:

  1. The ability to prepare studies and market research according to a correct scientific methodology.
  2. The ability to use indicators of data analysis and marketing studies by using appropriate scientific tools and methods.
  3. The ability to develop marketing plans that serve business objectives.
  4. The ability to evaluate the performance of tourism marketing and monitor the implementation of marketing plans.
  5. The ability to use customer communication and service promotion techniques.

General and transferable skills:

  1. The ability to work within a team effectively.
  2. Demonstrating personal commitment and responsibility in completing work according to the profession's standards and ethics.
  3. Gaining positive values ​​in practice, such as honesty, integrity, credibility at work, justice and equality.
  4. The ability of self-management, individual initiative and personal motivation.
  5. The ability to communicate, influence, communicate and present ideas and results by using appropriate means.
  6. The ability to interact positively with others in different personality styles and in different fields of work.
